Job Description

A well-established construction business that mainly focus on residential developments in the south - east are currently looking for a Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the Farnborough area. Reporting to the Company Directors, the ideal candidate will have the ability to manage a number of developments at any one time and will involve management of all costs relating to the initial calculations through to final figures.

You will be involved in a project from the start, preparing estimates and costs of the work. When the project is in progress, you'll keep track of any variations to the contract that may affect costs and create reports to show profitability as well as assess viability of future sites and their potential to be improved upon.

Other key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities
  • Undertake cost analysis for project work
  • Assist in establishing the Directors requirements when undertake feasibility studies
  • Perform risk, value management and cost control
  • Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks
  • Prepare and analyse costings for tenders
  • Allocate work to subcontractors
  • Provide advice on contractual claims
  • Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports
  • Value completed work and arrange payments
  • Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use
  • Understand the implications of health and safety regulations
  • Site visits, assessments and projections for future work
